ASP practice questions, organised by exam domain
Short answerHSE HUB offers ASP practice questions organised by exam domain and weighted to BCSP's published ASP blueprint, with a full explanation for every answer. Anyone can answer 10 questions a day with no account. HSE HUB Pro adds unlimited practice, 25- and 50-question sets, domain drills and a full 200-question mock exam scored by domain.
Why domain-weighted practice matters
The ASP exam is not evenly split. Per BCSP's published ASP11 blueprint, Safety Programs and Concepts carries 25% of the weight, while Legal carries 5%. Practising evenly across every topic wastes time. Practising in proportion to the blueprint, then drilling the domains where you score lowest, puts your hours where the marks are.
The nine ASP domains
Per BCSP's published ASP blueprint:
- Mathematical Calculations, 10%
- Safety Programs and Concepts, 25%
- Ergonomics, 8%
- Fire Prevention and Protection, 12%
- Emergency Preparedness and Response, 10%
- Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health, 12%
- Environmental Management, 7%
- Training, Education, and Communication, 11%
- Legal, 5%
What a good ASP practice question looks like
A useful question tests the task the blueprint describes, not trivia. The ASP blueprint lists tasks such as calculating noise exposure, fall clearance, NIOSH lifting equation values, incidence rates and exposure against limits like TLV, STEL and TWA. Every HSE HUB answer comes with a full explanation, so a wrong answer teaches you the method rather than just the letter.
Example: under OSHA's noise standard (29 CFR 1910.95), the permissible exposure is 90 dBA for 8 hours with a 5 dB exchange rate. How long may a worker be exposed to 95 dBA? Answer: 4 hours. Each 5 dB increase halves the allowed time, so 8 hours at 90 dBA becomes 4 hours at 95 dBA.
How to use ASP practice questions well
- Start with a mixed set to find your baseline across all nine domains.
- Read the explanation for every question, including the ones you got right by guessing.
- Drill your two weakest domains until your accuracy rises, then return to mixed sets.
- Practise calculations with the same calculator approach you plan to use on exam day.
- Take a full mock exam under timed conditions before booking, and review results by domain.
What you get with HSE HUB
Everyone gets 10 practice questions a day with no account, each with a full explanation. HSE HUB Pro (AED 50 a month or AED 135 for three months on the website) unlocks unlimited practice, 25- and 50-question sets, domain drills, a full 200-question, 3-hour mock exam with pause and resume scored by domain, short animated lessons and the ASP study guide.
The free field calculators for noise dose and 8-hour TWA, chemical exposure TWA vs OEL, WBGT heat stress, fall clearance and sling leg tension are a handy way to check your working on calculation questions. HSE HUB works on iOS, Android and the web.

Questions people ask
How many ASP practice questions can I answer without paying?
Anyone can answer 10 HSE HUB practice questions a day with no account, each with a full explanation. HSE HUB Pro removes the daily limit and adds 25- and 50-question sets, domain drills and a full 200-question mock exam scored by domain.
Are HSE HUB questions real ASP exam questions?
No. They are original practice questions written to the tasks in BCSP's published ASP blueprint and weighted to its domain percentages. Real exam content is confidential to BCSP. HSE HUB is an unofficial study tool and is not affiliated with BCSP.
Which ASP domain carries the most weight?
Per BCSP's published ASP11 blueprint, Safety Programs and Concepts is the largest domain at 25%. Fire Prevention and Protection and Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health follow at 12% each, then Training, Education, and Communication at 11%. Legal is the smallest at 5%.
How long is the ASP exam?
BCSP lists the ASP exam time as 5 hours. It is computer-based and taken at a Pearson VUE test centre. Results are available as soon as you submit, and a retake can be scheduled no earlier than six weeks after your last attempt.
How should I prepare for ASP calculation questions?
Learn the method behind each calculation the blueprint lists, such as noise exposure, fall clearance, incidence rates and the NIOSH lifting equation, then practise until the steps are automatic. Read every explanation, and use a calculator you are comfortable with so exam-day arithmetic does not slow you down.
Can I practise on my phone?
Yes. HSE HUB is available on the App Store and Google Play, and on the web at hsehub.org. Your 10 daily practice questions work on any of them, and HSE HUB Pro members get unlimited practice, domain drills and the mock exam on every platform.
